GigOptix, Inc. (GIG)

GigOptix, a leading supplier of semiconductor and optical components that enable high-speed information streaming, continues development of products to seize emerging high-growth opportunities. Operating in the communications, industrial, defense, and avionics industries, GigOptix offers a unique portfolio of Drivers, TIAs, and TFPSTM optical modulators for 40G, 100G, and 400G fiber-optic telecommunications and data-communications networks, as well as high performance MMIC solutions that enable next generation wireless microwave systems up to 90GHz and drivers.

GigOptix continues to seek damages through a lawsuit filed against an industry competitor, claiming the misappropriation of trade secrets. The Superior Court of Santa Clara County, California, denied the company's extraordinary request to enjoin defendants M/A-COM Technology Solutions, Inc. (MACOM), its subsidiary Optomai, Inc., and two of its employees who were former engineers at GigOptix.

However, the denial of the request for an injunction does not have any impact on GigOptix' case against the defendants. The company remains confident, citing strong forensic and other discovery evidence supporting its claim for misappropriation of trade secrets.

The company also recently showcased a full 100G/200G DP-16QAM System using the GigOptix GX62472 100G driver and the CR-100B, a second generation 25G coherent Receiver courtesy of Picometrix, an Advanced Photonix Company, at the 38thEuropean Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communications (ECOC) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The CR-100B receiver from Picometrix houses the GigOptix GX3222B, a dual channel 32Gbaud linear Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) designed for use in 100G DWDM optical receivers. This TIA is a high performance, silicon germanium TIA with adjustable bandwidth control that enables its use in receiver modules in a number of fiber optic transmission systems such as current generation 100G DP-QPSK optical systems in addition to future 400G optical systems.

Park City Group, Inc. (PCYG)

Park City Group, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of unique supply chain solutions for retailers and their suppliers, recently announced positive news regarding the close of its fiscal fourth quarter and year, which ended June 30, 2012.

Park City Group saw favorable growth in its subscription revenue during the fourth quarter, increasing 11% to $1.9 million. Brought on by its strategic shift to a subscription revenue model, total revenue and other revenue declined by 17% and 56%, respectively. "As anticipated, subscription revenue growth accelerated during the fourth quarter. In addition, we finalized agreements with large retail hubs that should allow for further acceleration in the coming quarters. With our transition to a subscription model complete, we believe license related revenue will stabilize at its current level of approximately 30% of sales," said Park City Group's Chairman and CEO, Randall K. Fields.

"2012 marked the successful completion of our three-year plan to transform the company from a license to a subscription revenue model,” continued Mr. Fields. “During the process we were successful in doubling the size of the business, shifting the mix of subscription revenue from 6% to 70% of total revenue, organically growing subscription revenue by nearly 40%, and at the same time reducing debt by nearly 70%. During that same period, we proved our ability to add new retailers ‘hubs’ and suppliers ‘spokes’ to our network, put in place the infrastructure to support rapid growth in connections between suppliers and retailers, and sell additional services to both suppliers and retailers in our network. With that process in our rear view mirror we are well positioned and will now accelerate the pace of growth."

The close of its fourth quarter marked a year of accomplishments for Park City Group. During 2012, the company made strides in a new retail vertical market through an agreement forged with a leading U.S. drug store chain, becoming its first retail customer outside the grocery industry.

During 2012, the company also saw growth in its end-to-end supply chain services, announcing the implementation of additional supply chain management point solutions with a number of existing supplier and retail customers. Also of note, Park City Group announced that it had begun its first two implementations of the ReposiTrack(TM) track and trace solutions with Food & Drug Safety partnership with Leavitt Partners, creating a strong focus on food safety.

The company's strong emphasis on health, fitness, and community has served marketing initiatives very well. The new age beverage segment has seen increasing momentum in recent years, with just about every beverage company getting into the game, but none of them has the kind of no-nonsense product composition behind Skinny Water, something that appeals directly to the majority of the core consumer market.

Featuring educational materials at point of sale, Skinny Nutritional continues with the introduction of its new product, Skinny Water pH+, as well. Inspired by the alkaline diet favored by celebrities and medical practitioners, and delivering on the belief that the human body should maintain an optimum balance of acidity and alkalinity, Skinny Water pH+ is infused with minerals to help keep the body balanced. Fortified with magnesium, zinc, and potassium found in fruits and vegetables, an alkaline diet is believed to greatly benefit overall well-being by providing increased levels of energy, and even clearer skin, increased metabolism, and mental clarity.
