Energtek, Inc. (EGTK.PK)

With all of the talk about green energy, reduced emissions, solar and even nuclear power, it’s easy to forget that one of the biggest things happening in the energy world today is a fuel that has been around for centuries, natural gas (NG). Even though clearly a fossil fuel, natural gas is one of the cleanest fuels available today. Compared to other fossil fuels, it releases at least 24% less carbon dioxide, 50% less nitrous oxides, and 90% less carbon monoxide. Plus it is found all over the world, with significant availability in Asia where growing economies are hungry for new sources of power. As a result, Asian governments have begun a major push to harness and distribute NG resources.

Riding the wave of this increasingly important, though less talked about energy resource, is Energtek, Inc., a leader in the development and application of ANG (Adsorbed Natural Gas). One of the challenges with natural gas has been the high pressures required to compress the gas to a volume that is more easily stored in the form of compressed natural gas (CNG). The equipment and materials needed for CNG drive up storage and transportation costs, making it impractical for use with the small 2 and 3-wheeled vehicles so common in Asia.

Using the advanced ANG technology developed by Energtek, these problems are reduced or eliminated. Instead of high-pressure compression, ANG uses molecular adsorption, the adhesion of molecules to the surface of a solid, to allow low-pressure gas containment, greatly reducing costs. Microporous materials, such as activated carbon, reduce the amount of pressure needed to store the same amount of gas. This allows even small vehicles to be easily converted to NG. In addition, when used in conjunction with higher pressures, ANG allows more gas to be held in a given volume container, for more cost effective bulk transportation.

Energtek is now set to reap the benefits of their technology. In India, its subsidiary, Moregastech India Private Limited, is expected to report its first revenues in a few months, based upon demand for the cost effective transportation of NG to Indian communities not served by pipelines. And, in the Philippines, the government has given the company the go-ahead to convert a million 3-wheeled vehicles. Both projects have huge profit potentials.

Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (KBLB.OB)

Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. is a biotechnology company focused on the development of commercially significant high performance polymers and technical fibers. Based on proprietary genetic engineering technology, the company is working with university scientists and laboratories to develop and produce polymers and protein-based materials using spider silk gene sequences.

Spider silk is one of the strongest fibers found in nature, being five times stronger than steel of the same diameter. Some of spider silk's most significant properties include its extreme flexibility and resistance to breaking under severe strains. Presently, there is no known way to produce spider silk in commercial quantities. Spiders are cannibalistic and cannot be raised in concentrated colonies, hence Kraig Biocraft's attempt to use genetic engineering for producing spider silk with silkworms.

The company is currently working with scientists at the University of Notre Dame to develop enzymes and strategies for conducting site specific genetic recombination of the spider silk gene. Site specific genetic recombination allows for the genetic targeting of a specific location on a specific chromosome. This is potentially critical to the company's work because of the strong influence of what geneticists refer to as “location effects.” Location effects are effects that result not from the coding of a specific gene, but from the location of that gene on a specific chromosome.

Kraig believes that spider silk has the potential to be a “super fiber” that will have numerous commercial and consumer applications. The worldwide market for high performance technical fibers is estimated to be $92 billion per year, with 50% of the market here in the US. High performance technical fibers are currently used in a wide variety of military, industrial and commercial applications requiring superior strength, toughness and flexibility. According to a research report by Emerging Growth Research, this market has experienced significant growth over the past 10 years and is expected to continue to grow at a robust rate for the foreseeable future.

Sector 10 Inc. (SECI.OB)

Sector 10 Inc. is a company focused on becoming the world's leading provider of mobile and stationary emergency life response equipment. The company is attempting to redefine the emergency response paradigm from centralized equipment staging to onsite pre-deployed emergency response resources.

Sector 10 is the only emergency response systems company that so strongly emphasizes the use of pre-deployed resources as the way to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce liabilities. This strategy leaves the company perfectly positioned to capitalize on an extremely fragmented industry and to change the industry's future course. While billions of tax dollars are spent on emergency response, little is spent on emergency preparedness.

This is where Sector 10's pre-deployed solutions come into play. The company's systems provide first aid supplies, life saving equipment, breathing masks, occupant tracking through a real-time 3D interface and emergency communications. Sector 10's mobile and stationary solutions are an immediate aid to those who need it most. They allows those who are caught in a disaster to “bridge the survival gap” between the time the disaster occurs and emergency responders arrive.

Sector 10 has been contacted by twenty-five countries concerning the company's patent-pending mobile and stationary emergency response units. Most customer inquiries involve the use of multiple units in settings such as high-rise buildings, hospitals and universities. Company CEO Pericles DeAvila has stated that the company is on target for meeting its goals for fiscal 2009/10 and has begun working on a 5-year business development plan, which will include an acquisition and growth strategy.

Sector 10 believes there has never been more opportunities in the industry. The company looks to capitalize on new product development and new partnerships with strategic companies as a way to achieve rapid future growth for Sector 10. The company's emphasis on pre-deployed, life-saving resources has Sector 10 uniquely positioned in the emergency response industry.

Suspect Detection Systems, Inc. (SDSS.OB)

Suspect Detection Systems, Inc. has potentially transformed the future of airport security, and possibly the security industry in general, with the introduction of a single machine. The machine is called Cogito™ and it is seen as one of the most promising counter-terror and crime prevention technologies in decades.

Cogito is essentially an automated interrogation system able to detect hostile intent. Although its most visible application is at airports around the world, the automated interrogation system is not limited to airport security. It can be used in virtually any situation requiring security screening, including law enforcement, building security, and even the screening of prospective employees. In

The process is simple, and usually takes less than 5 minutes. Passengers sit down inside a futuristic looking oval booth, facing an instructional screen and putting one hand on a sensor. The system begins to ask them questions in their own language, while sophisticated software monitors physiological responses. The questions and analysis are different, depending on the subject’s country of origin, age, and background, to filter out bias. The idea is not so much to detect specific lies, but rather to identify a pattern of behavior that is instantly matched against data collected from extensive testing around the world. When suspicious patterns are recognized, the person can be taken for additional questioning. Tests have shown a high success rate, with few false alarms.

SDS recently announced a sale of the Cogito system to a government agency in Latin America, for use in combating a wave of criminal activity in the country. The company anticipates that the installation of these first units will yield additional unit sales to the same agency later this year. The successful implementation of Cogito technology may also lead to sales at other agencies fighting crime and terror throughout the region.

Based in Israel, a country where security is taken very seriously, SDS has an impressive team supporting its mission. The company was founded by Shabtai Shoval, formerly with Israeli military intelligence, in conjunction with Amiram Levin, the former deputy head of Israel’s secret security service, and Ishayau Horowitz, the former head of the Israeli police polygraph division. Leveraging its advanced technology and team of experienced professionals, the company provides innovative solutions that can be deployed today to protect the security of tomorrow.
